Tóm tắt In modern Russian, verbal phrases have been commonly used. This paper compasses the grammatical and semantic features between verbal phrases and verbs with roots similar to those of nouns - components of verbal phrases. It also analysis the great roles of verbal phrases in the creation of phrasal and sentential cohesion. The verbal phrases have been much exploited by Russian writers to express different emotional colors.
