Tóm tắt As a kind of spoken discourse, live TV football commentaries seem to be more delicate than other kinds of commentary after the game. The commentator in this text type has to report on the events based on play-by-play actions. The findings have shown that Themes tend to be simple with the majority of Themes being single topical Themes. Where multiple Themes are selected, they most often comprise a textual Themes and topical Themes. The most prominent topical Theme is a participant Theme which is realized as a player and this appears to highlight the importance of the individual although the game is played by the team altogether.
