Tóm tắt In order to verify previous claims and better understand intonation in Eastern Cham, we recorded read sentences and interviews in Phan Rang in July 2012. These acoustic data were analyzed with Praat. A statistical analysis was then conducted in SPSS 20 to determine the effect of a set of categorical dependant variables (such as functions, register, number of syllables of those final particles) on a number of acoustic indicators (such as intensity, f0 and duration). This research addresses the question of the interaction between intonation and register and formalizes it within auto segmental-metrical phonology.
