Tóm tắt It seems that translating movie title is never easy. “How to produce a movie title translation which can please both critics and movie goers?” is a tough question for many translators. This may lead to quyte a few debates over movie title translation.It is likely that such a demanding job will become simpler if the process of translating movie titles is investigated to find out the principles as well as translation strategies to preserve aesthetic and commercial purpose. This inspired the author of this paper to conduct interviews with translators who have experience of translating movies and their titles in CGV – the leading cinema and film distributor in Vietnam – in order to gain profound insight about movie title translation, the principles and strategies in translating movie titles.
