Tóm tắt	In this article, the author suggests that it is not necessary to standardize the Vietnamese orthography again because the standardization was already done by Prof.Hoang Phe et al in the 1980s when they first published the word Từ điển tiếng Việt ( the Vietnamese Dictionary). Moreover, it is suggested that the simple and appropriate solutions proposed in that work should be adopted in order to avoid unnecessary confusions in writting the two characters “I” and “Y”.
