Tóm tắt Hongloumeng is famous for its being broad in conception and meticulous in details,as well as equipped with diversiform literary forms. The poems(and their variants) ever appeared in this book are of different structures and colorful and varied in postures. Given the complexity of poetry translation,these poems constitute many a difficulties for the translation of this great works. In the process of translating Hongloumeng,David Hawkes upholds his principle to"translate everything in the book——even the puns",in an attempt to represent the poetic features and aesthetic style of the original poems(and their variants) at many levels,including rhythm,rhyme,stanza and line to the maximum degree,forging a model translation of"rendering poems with poems",which wins unanimous applauses from the readership and critic circle at home and abroad.
Tóm tắt 《红楼梦》号称体大虑周,文备众体。其中的诗词(及其变体)可谓形态各异,多姿多彩。鉴于诗歌翻译的复杂性,这些诗歌作品构成《红楼梦》英译的诸多难点。霍克思在英译过程中,本着"力求翻译每一样东西——甚至是双关"的总体原则,在诗歌节奏、韵律、诗节、诗行的处理方面最大限度地再现了原诗的诗学特征与美学风格,赢得了英语世界读者及中西译界评论家的认可与好评,可以看做是"以诗译诗、译诗为诗"的典范。
