Tóm tắt Collective nouns have the dual number concept of internal plural and external singular,which is generated from the dual conceptualization of the dual numerical feature of collective things.The representation of the number concept of collective nouns includes morphological and syntactic representations,which are both the selected representation of the internal plural and external singular of collective nouns.The singular form is the representation of the external singular,and the plural form is the representation of the internal plural.The result of this study indicates that a symbolic relation exists between the number form and the number concept of English collective nouns,and suggests that there is no case in English where a singular noun expresses a plural concept or a plural noun expresses a singular concept.
Tóm tắt 集合名词具有内部复数和外部单数双重数概念,它们生成于对集合性事物双重数量特征的双重概念化。集合名词数概念的形式表征有词法表征和句法表征,它们都是对集合名词内部复数和外部单数的选择性表征,即单形是外部单数的形式表征,复形是内部复数的形式表征。据此,英语集合名词的数形与数义之间存在象征关系,单形名词表复义和复形名词表单义的现象在英语中均不存在
