Tóm tắt Reduplicating morphemes in Chinese may create either words or constructions.Reduplicated words and reduplicated constructions are mutually exclusive,resulting in their complementary distribution in a certain word class.For example,Chinese nouns contain words of AA type,so nouns cannot be reduplicated to form constructions.Similarly,Chinese verbs see constructions of AA type,so verbs cannot be reduplicated to form words.
