Tóm tắt The thesis discusses the textual cohesive functions of the commentary adverb "wuguaihu" from the synchronic perspective. The cohesive means can be divided into single use type, collaborative use type, dual-purpose type and centered type. The cohesion types of "wuguaihu" include cause-effect inference, cause-effect explanation and cause-effect supplement. The meaning of enlightenment and realization has restraining textual functions which include explicating conclusion, further explanation and proof provision. In addition, the thesis discusses the differences between "wuguai" and "wuguaihu" in terms of the structure form, cohesive function and pragmatic features.
