Tóm tắt “Gada” and “oda” are two typical motion verbs which have very high usage frequency in Korean language but are often misused by foreigners. This paper has highlight the typical syntactic-semantic features of the Korean motion verbs “gada” and “oda”, in comparison with “đi” (to go) and “đến” (to come) in Vietnamese. The author analyzed and suggested the usage patterns of “gada” and “oda” based on the positions of the speaker and the moving actor. With this understanding of the differences in the syntactic-semantically features and practical usages of “gada” and “oda”, the author hopes communication related to these two verbs will be improved.
