Tóm tắt 张惠言在《词选序》中提出"意内言外"的重要词学观念,对清代词学乃至整个中国词学的发展起到了划时代的作用。"意内言外"说可能受到其易学研究的影响,但不宜高估。张惠言词学与赋学一脉相承,其词学"意内言外"说在乾隆五十八年左右形成,而在嘉庆二年的《词选序》中对这一理论作了系统阐发,时间紧接着其从事赋学批评之后。《七十家赋钞》与《词选》的编纂时间先后相继,贯穿其中的文学观念也大体相通。《七十家赋钞》中的文学观念影响了张惠言的词学观。在词学批评实践中,张惠言大量地援赋说词,打通了诗、骚、赋、词的壁垒。张惠言的赋学与词学从观念到实践都有相通之处,都是在儒教伦理下的以意逆志、知人论世等批评方法的推衍,而这也是整个常州词派词学的重要特色。
