Tóm tắt Drawing on the metonymy theory of cognitive linguistics, this paper analyzes the metonymic mechanism underlying translation techniques by dealing with the bidirectional PART-WHOLE and PART-PART transferred designation. The study shows that 1) the inquiry into the translation of metonymy serves the purpose of revealing the cognitive relation between a TL element and its SL counterpart; 2) such a relation is metonymic in nature, i.e., it is a semantic relation of bidirectional transferred designation between a TL element and its SL counterpart; and 3) with metonymy functioning as one of the important cognitive motivations and mechanisms underlying such techniques as substitution, the theory of metonymy translation provides a unified framework for explicating the TLSL relation, shedding light on translation research and practice in general
Tóm tắt 本文在指出对翻译技巧背后的认知机制进行研究的必要性的基础上,借认知语言学的转喻理论,从整体与部分以及部分与部分之间互指的角度分析了替换等传统翻译技巧背后的转喻机制。研究表明:(1)翻译转喻研究的主要目的是为了阐明译入语与源语对应项之间的认知关系;(2)翻译过程中译入语与源语对应项之间存在转喻关系,即两者之间是一种相互转指的语义关系;(3)翻译转喻理论主张转喻是替换等翻译技巧背后的一种重要的动因和认知机制,并将翻译过程中译入语与源语对应项之间的关系纳入了统一的解释框架,这对于翻译理论研究与翻译实务均具有一定的指导意义
