Tóm tắt This paper aims to defend the concept of cultural equality by critically engaging with the idea and dealing constructively with attendant problems and limitations.It begins by assessing arguments in support of cultural equality and discussing its multiple meanings and value.It then canvasses some of the arguments against cultural equality,highlighting the complex theoretical difficulties and problems that arise if the question of cultural equality is taken seriously,and suggesting strategies for dealing with these problems.By stressing the importance of the notion of cultural equality this paper also attempts to bypass the relativist critique.Crucially,the idea of cultural equality highlights the importance of cultures and their differences.At the same time cultural equality assumes cultural interaction,and holds a universal crosscultural perspective that sees equality as the basis for the communication,production and distribution of culture both internally and externally.
Tóm tắt 本文对文化平等思想进行全面的分析、考察。首先,文章通过评估支持文化平等的论据,讨论其多重涵义和价值。然后,讨论反对文化平等的论据,以强调重视文化平等时所产生的复杂理论问题,并进而提出解决的相应对策。本文认为,文化平等思想持有普遍的跨文化视角,非常看重文化和文化间的相互作用及其差异性,并视平等为内在和外在的文化交流、生产和分配的基础。我们应该认真考虑如何为文化平等原则做出辩护,并且指出文化不平等在什么样的情况下是可以接受的,这就要求对文化平等的背景和内容进行明确的社会学解读。换言之,任何对文化平等思想的辩护或驳难,必须在具体的语境中进行,因为文化平等中的具体内容往往具有特殊的涵义。
