Tóm tắt This empirical study investigates the acquisition of locality constraints on English reflexives in six distinct conditions of three different sentence types by Chinese-speaking learners at three proficiency levels.The instrument is a story-based truth value judgment task programed with Eprime.The results show that L2 learners at all proficiency levels performed significantly better on biclausal sentences than on monoclausal sentence with reflexives embedded in possessed picture noun phrases(PPNP).The low-level group displayed significant differences between licensing local binding and disallowing long-distance antecedents in biclausal sentences with nonfinite embedded clauses.With the increase of proficiency,there was great improvement in identifying the antecedent for reflexives;however,the developmental patterns differed in the three sentence types as well as in the six subtypes.It seems that the acquisition of locality of binding is variable dependent rather than domain wide.This was accounted for from the perspectives of cross-linguistic impact and phase theory,specifically,completeness and different categories of the head of the phase.
Tóm tắt 本文采用基于故事的真值判断任务,考察不同水平组的中国英语学习者习得不同条件下英语反身代词局部性的情况。结果发现,每组学习者在限定性和非限定性双子句中反身代词的习得都显著好于带有领属语的图画类名词短语。初级组在非限定性双子句中,接受近位约束与拒绝远程约束存在显著差异。学习者随着英语水平的提高,局部性的习得有显著提高,但不同条件下的局部性习得发展模式不完全相同,约束的局部性习得是基于变量的(variable dependent),而不是全域性的(domain wide)。本文从跨语言的影响和语段中心语语类及其结构的完整性角度,解释了中介语语法中的反身代词局部性限制在每组内和各组间三种句型及6个子类型里的差异。
