Tóm tắt Available studies on the L2 acquisition of ambiguous English VPPs produce interesting results but also generate unsolved problems.This paper presents an empirical study of the acquisition of English ambiguous VPPs by adult Mandarin and Spanish Speakers.Results obtained from an animated cartoon selection task indicate that whilst neither the Mandarin nor the Spanish speakers possess native-like interpretative knowledge,Spanish speakers show tense-based interpretations of the target VPPs.The results were discussed in relation to the issue of whether uninterpretable features not already activated in the first language are still accessible in adult L2 acquisition.The implications of the present study for existing studies on L2 acquisition of ambiguous English VPPs were also presented.
Tóm tắt 本研究区分VPP语义的词汇性与句法性,假设不可解特征[uV]是英语VPP歧义的来源,运用动画选择任务调查以汉语、西班牙语为母语的成人英语学习者掌握目标VPP歧义的情况,并结合歧义习得与母语时态影响。研究发现,1)汉语受试不能掌握英语VPP歧义,对VPP的解读不受动词时态变化影响;2)西班牙受试不能掌握VPP歧义,但部分学习者展现出基于动词时态的VPP解读。研究从二语习得不可解特征的可及性视角解释了本次发现,并回答了相关二语研究中尚待解决的问题。
