Tóm tắt The current paper provides an overview of key innovation and development of Vietnamese linguistics over the last three decades since the policy reforms (Doi moi). During 30 years, Vietnamese linguistics vitnesses the creative integration, acquisition of prominent fields, authors, and works of Vietnamese have been sketched out. Newapproaches have been employed in Vietnamese linguistics studies including functional grammar, generative grammar, pragmatics, sociolinguistics, cognitive linguistics, computational linguistics, speech-language pathology, etc. The paper documents the contributions of seminal works to the development of the fields, from newly minted approaches such as appraisal framework to traditional topics such as stylistics and general linguistics.
