Tóm tắt English translations of Lu Xun’s novels have been a constant topic for research. Probe into Mr. Yang Xianyi and Gladys Yang’s translaitons of Lu Xun’s works can shed new light on Chinese-English translation. After all, Chinese-English translation poses difficulties for the translator, including how to structure a sentence and how to select the predicate verb. The present study bases on a contrastive survey of Chinese and English verbs in a relatively small corpus of parallel texts in the two languages, Chinese originals by Lu Xun and English translations by Yang Xianyi and Gladys Yang, for the purpose of discussing how to build a subject-verb structure in English and how to choose the predicate verb.
Tóm tắt 鲁迅小说英译本研究是一个经久不衰的话题,从杨氏夫妇英译本中能挖掘许多新认识和新发现。汉英翻译中句式如何架构,谓语动词如何选择,这些都是译者在进行汉英翻译时必须面对的难题。文章通过运用语料库的研究方法从英汉句法对比的角度,分析和归纳杨氏夫妇在英译鲁迅小说时如何处理句子主谓结构的架设,探讨其谓语动词的选择。
