Tóm tắt The papers analyses the foundational data, beginning with evaluating the importance of computer-mediated communication. The analytical section starts from a general introduction about the pedagogical characteristic of CMC in general education, to instructional features of CMC in language education. One of the conclusions drawn from the investigations is that CMC, both synchronous and asynchronous, posseesses potentials that can help improve the learners’s language learning process. Another conclusion is that there should be more comprehensive reseacher in the future about various corners od CMC; this would be able to help us various particulars of this novel method of communication, especially in the context teaching and learning English in Vietnam, where the concept of CMC, as well as its applucations into education in general and in language education in specific is still under-exploited.
