Tóm tắt It cannot be denied that English passive voice has its own properties, and also causes non-major students of English at Hong Duc University a lot of difficulties due to its complexity, variety in forms and meaning when compared with Vietnamese. Because of its signigicance, this paper spedializes in investigating some common mistakes in using English passive voice made by non-major students of English at HDU then suggesting solutions to overcome. In this paper, the mistakes in using English passive are listed systematically and logically so that it is easily understanable with the theory of English passive and suggestions. Futher more, mistakes are also found in translating English passive sentences into Vietnamese ones. It is hoped that the finds as well as the suggestions will be helpful for both Vietnamese teachers and students of English.
