Tóm tắt The Khmer and the Vietnamese people have been living together in the Mekong Delta for ages. Among the manifestations of the cultural interference there are manifestations of the language interference. The Vietnamese place-names of Khmer origin in the folk-songs have resulted from this cultural interference. They are not only various but also plentiful. Some Khmer words are used as they are in the Khmer language, and some are Vietnamized, and some are difficult to determine whether they are of Vietnamese or Khmer origin. These issues will be discussed in this paper.
